Top ten things that are boring, 2015 edition

I almost let New Years pass without a list. It’s January 3rd, and I was just reminded reading a couple of highly predictable blog comments that some things are boring, and therefore need to be put in the form of a list. Ideally I would have you click on each item on this list so that you can be visually exposed to subliminal advertising, but I don’t have any advertisers.

Anyway, here goes, a list of things that are really boring

  • 10. Long-winded questions after talks and panel discussions.
  • 9. Irish Americans who think that somehow matters. (Yeah, that’s you, Megan O’Flannigan.)
  • 8. Poorly written overly long book reviews.
  • 7. Self-appointed political experts who, truth be told, don’t get politics at all.
  • 6. Athlete interviews.
  • 5. Selfindulgent lists.
  • 3. (tie) Republican-bashing by Democrats.
  • 3. (tie) Democrat-bashing by Republicans.
  • 2. Parades.
  • 1. Ice fishing. [Views differ.]

Everywhere lists. I take issue with “ice fishing.” Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Not one “progressive” blog included Baucus taking a final bow, after taking down the Party with the ACA, and scampering off to China to help drill one last (TPP) hole in the USS-US. Weird?

“Dumbing down” doesn’t nearly begin to explain the level of ignorance and denial in everyday Americal life. “The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.” -George Orwell

No hut necessary, and it helps if you catch something occasionally. Fresh fish. Yummmmm! Being outdoors watching the world go around (v. inside) has its own rewards. Drilling holes with a hand auger is pretty good exercise. Eagles and other birds, scenery, solitude, what’s not to like? Of course, it’s not for everybody.

Since New Years predictions didn’t make your list maybe you should give us some?

  5. Normally I do not learn post on blogs, however I wish to
say that this write-up very compelled me to take a look
at and do so! Your writing taste has been amazed me.
    Thank you, very nice post.
