The hacks and water carriers are claiming that Jon Tester misspoke, overstated, or committed a gaffe. Maughan easily points out the obvious, that he’s spreading deliberate lies to advance the cause of subsidized logging in Montana.

Thanks Mark. The comments are also quite good. Melcher, Burns, and now Tester have all had the same mission: Bring home the bacon. The real cash flow is in Federal employee salaries that get spent in communities all around the state. So, the “timber jobs” we’ve heard so much about for so long are Forest Service, BLM, and DOJ jobs as much as any directly connected with killing trees and moving and processing the corpses.
