According to Bruce Fein at Slate, Nancy Pelosi threatened to remove John Conyers from chairmanship of the House judiciary committee if he opens an impeachment inquiry.
Nothing rattles her more than Democrats who go after Republicans. She is indeed a strong leader. She’s just working for the wrong party.

One might argue that she was simply the controlled opposition character playing the Democrats for fools. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a Republican plant in disguise.
If she was genuinely anti-war and pro-Democrat, she would’ve also pushed for then-President George W. Bush’s impeachment and prosecution as a war criminal & profiteer (which she didn’t, as we see above. In fact, she vehemently opposed holding Bush accountable.) Of course, this is not to say that she should’ve gone full-swing against the Republican establishment – no doubt she would’ve found agreement with them on some issues – but if I was in her shoes, I wouldn’t have been too soft on Bush for his legitimate crimes committed at America’s (and the world’s) expense.
Her recent support for providing $40 billion+ in federal funding to Ukraine (which, I’m sure, goes into the pockets of weapons contractors) – tax dollars which could’ve been used to provide quality care for children in need, for example – clearly exemplifies her true stances on foreign policy (of course, some might argue that her stance on war has changed from 2007-22, but still). She’s just a garden variety corporate sellout in sheep’s clothing.
I think you’ll agree with my above points in hindsight – knowing what we know now.
