Conservative Assumptions

According to Richard Viguerie,, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, the actual Bush deficit for the coming fiscal year is not the $482 billion announced by the White House, but rather $789 billion. The former number does not include $227 billion that will be borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund (taken from the middle and working classes), and $80 billion to fund the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Estimated expenditures are over $3 trillion, counting the wars, so that we are borrowing about $.26 cents for every dollar we spend at the federal level.

Viguerie is against this sort of spending. We probably don’t agree on where spending should be cut, but it is refreshing to hear from him, to know that there are some fiscal conservatives living and breathing out there. As with everything else he touches, Bush has made a joke of an honorable philosophy.

  1. the richest 1% of americans could easily retire the national debt if they each donated 12% of their net worth. this is possible because the top 5% of americans control over 95% of the capital in the US.

after paying this debt off we could balance the budget if the top 5% of americans paid an honest 12% flat tax on their income. the rest of us would not even need to pay federal tax. it seems like it is time for the wealthy to chip in after decades of taking a free ride while the middle class goes broke paying everyone’s way.

the fact that bush and friends oil co. would steal from social security to pay for this travesty just shows that greed knows no bounds. no wonder Jesus Christ lost his temper rousting the hypocrites from the temple. I think a little metaphorical whip work by voters would be just the thing to rid Washington DC of this corrupt and greedy bunch- McCain included!

the rich should pay their way. We’ve paid enough!

“The White House has issued figures indicating that President Bush and his enablers in Congress will leave his successor with a budget deficit of $482 Billion for Fiscal Year 2009, which is a record. How’s that for a legacy?

Who controls congress and its purse strings?

Congress’s legacy is reflective in its poll numbers.
