Kevin Starr recently suggested a strong facial resemblances between Earl Holliman (who just died a couple of weeks ago at age 96) and Paul Rudd. I thought there was something in Holliman that looked familiar, so I thought I would run him against the Bokonovsky Brats. But first, Holliman/Rudd:

They eyes, nose, ears, hairline, facial shape and chin all align quite well, but not the mouths. Struck out.
However, Rudd strikes me as a Brat candidate, maybe one of the others, but not today. Interesting story about Rudd, he starred in the series Living With Yourself as an unhappy man who goes to a strip mall to find a small outlet where two men agree to clone him and then kill his original self. He pulls up to the mall and parks as he weighs this heavy decision, and who should emerge from the place but Tom Brady, the original Matt Damon lookalike. I thought that quite odd, as Brady seems to know things about this stuff, playing around as he does with Damon and Jimmy Kimmel (another Brat).
Anyway, I ran Holliman with the other known Brat groups.

That is Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Charley Sheen and Ben Stiller. As I did this I realized that these are aging men, and that I don’t keep up enough with entertainment to use younger stars. Soon all my work will, along with me, fade away. Anyway, no matches. None even close.
Next I wanted to learn more about Angie Dickinson, the woman who was once asked on the Johnny Carson show if she dressed for men or women. She thought briefly and said “I dress for women. I undress for men.” I was surprised to find her alive, 93 years old. I thought she held possibility with some of our Brats.

Those are the four basic Brat groups we developed in the last decade, Jayne Mansfield, Emma Thompson, Judy Woodruff and Helen Murrin. As far as I know Murrin is still working (in the Taylor Sheridan series 1923) but not the others. Mansfield famously faked her death in 1967, on her way to New Orleans to meet with Jim Garrison? Details elude me.
She aligned closely with Judy Woodruff, but the chins do not align. Woodruff is smiling with an open mouth while Dickinson’s is closed. I suppose I could work that a bit harder, but I would be fudging if I did that. It either is or isn’t.

I liked that comment. I never watched Police Woman, but I knew of it. I immediately thought that there was some foreshadowing going on with her name, but the Sgt Pepper album was released in 1967, and Police Woman ran from 1974-78. It must have been a deliberate reference.
Thanks Mark. Always a fun and fascinating experiment even though we now know that prominent people are all (blanket statement?) closely related.

Just to remind me more than you, and so to be a self-loathing asshole, being closely related means nothing. We are not clone machines. I had three brothers, we four of the same parents, and just on Mom’s side, 25 cousins. Among my brothers there is an agreed upon resemblance, but none of us were ever mistaken for the others. Among my cousins, all born of seven sisters, not an iota of resemblance, though within one family there were eight carrot tops, easily seen to be different people.
The close resemblance we find among famous people who make their living in front of cameras reveals some process that is making them. I call them Bokonovsky Brats. We usually see the successful ones – my God was Paul Newman a handsome man! I’ve seen the unsuccessful ones who posed as assassins and serial killers when stardom was not possible. Jeffrey Dahmer, Mark David Chapman, John Hinckley Jr. all fit precisely into the Jack Nicholson facial plate.
The point is that what I am describing with these lookalikes who are easily distinguishable from one another is some process by which humans are manufactured to play various roles, usually of high prominence. I only describe the outcomes, and do not understand the process by which Martin Sheen produces Charlie, who is an exact replica of Pierce Brosnan, though no one ever mistakes one for the other.

I guess I just meant that none of them stepped off of a greyhound and hit it big. i glad that my clumsy comment allowed you to clarity…it can’t be stressed enough.

Brian Robert “BT” Thompson just “died”. Who is he? CEO of UnitedHealthCare.
“A lawsuit was filed against Thompson in May 2024 for alleged fraud and insider trading due to failing to disclose an antitrust investigation into the company by the United States Department of Justice.
He was shot by a gunman in a black hoodie armed with a silenced 9mm pistol. Thompson’s wife reported that he had received threats in the past, citing “lack of coverage” as a possible reason.

There is a recent movie titled The Hitman (2023) which states that hitmen are a myth. I can buy that. Like serial killers, etc. Whoever this guy is that staged his “murder”, he clearly hadn’t seen this film. That said, he certainly had help in retiring his persona and I imagine the malfeasance dies with him, letting his would be accomplices skate. He just drew the short straw.

Except when hitmen protect little girls like in “Leon: the Professional” right? LOL

I wanted to be a professional hitman when I was about 12. I was sad to find out that profession did not exist except in films.

Yep…and me and my friends would regularly play “war” and “swat” and for some reason break off into factions and start actually trying to hurt each other…weird.

Woody Harrelson’s dad, Charles, was said to have been a professional hit man, to have been one of the three tramps in Dealey after the JFK event, and to have died in prison.
Only one of those things about him is true: He died.

Just looking at holliman/ Rudd mirrored there, they look strikingly similar to me. Rudd is smiling slightly, raising the level of his lips, but otherwise they’re doppelgangers.

#2: Mark, i have been meaning for some time to give supporting evidence on at least the theoretical possibility of cloning similar to your Brats proposal, and the surprising similarity of certain celebrities of late.
Going back to 2001 I was shocked how similar Matt Damon and Tom Brady were in appearances, the only significant difference being in height. I was convinced Damon would play Brady in a biopic at some point; on that I am wrong (so far), but Damon did play a famous Rugby player in Invictus, a Hollywood psyop on South Africa and Mandela.

Also, splitting mammalian cells into single cell clonal lines is not difficult, it just takes patience and a microscope. I know, because i have done it several times to isolate single cell clones – that were transfected with a gene of interest.
Along those lines, it should be relatively simple to isolate single cells and split them off after for example 3-4 splits/replications, and make/sub-clone 8-16 individual clones. I.e. take a fertilized embryo and split into several immortal cell lines. The literature may say it is not possible to do this, but I doubt it, it is pretty simple with typical mammalian cell lines used in gene cloning.

I was just reading through the comments on the united CEO being “assassinated”. No doubt some lousy psyop to make us give a fuck about these people. Surprising thing was lack of empathy for the guy which made me feel good. Why is it if a CEO is murdered it is an ass-ass-in-a-nation? Shouldn’t it be called a step in the right direction?

I’m gonna assume he performed his task like a good little agent and was subsequently reassigned. The Medical Examiner’s offices in every major city are so “under the thumb” that a faked death is just a walk in the park.

BB King (not so) famously said in an interview that “All cops and judges are freemasons”. I wonder if we can add “coroners” to that.

Mirren being Russian makes me wonder if she and Natalie/Lana Wood are cousins*. I don’t think Natalie and Lana are full sisters beyond the fictionalized bios. They don’t look that alike despite the grooming. Lana has more of the Russian cat’s eye look and Natalie, imo being part Spanish, doesn’t. Similar noses, no Levantine protuberance in evidence with either of them, young Mirren’s a little longer but narrow. I don’t think chops would prove a Bokonovsky link but they all descend from nobles and that’s not nothing.
*The mainstream has remarked on the appearance of Jennifer Lawrence being within reach Mirren’s looks. Lawrence descends from American presidents which would make it a stretch.

Yves shared some hitman lore on naked capitalism yesterday.. I have two main questions.. won’t you run out of hitmen? I mean how big is the pool to begin with. And also, don’t A and B know how this ends for them?
“Those of you who consume murder mysteries likely know this already, but a friend who started up a US operation in Moscow in 1993 and says she was the only person in that era to sue a Russian oil company, win in court, collect the money and live to tell the tale, had her ex-KGB driver explain how professional hits work. They take 3 people, A, B, and C. A does the killing. B has hired A. The client hires C, who finds B.
B kills A and is in turn killed by C so as to assure it will be very hard to connect the client to the killing.
A is cheap. B is not.”
Side note, Woody Allen’s last ever(?) movie involves hits and hitmen. Coup de Chance. Not a bad flick at all if you like his movies. I’m in awe of his steady commitment to the basics of stories, characters and craft while almost everyone else flails around flinging poo at the wall.
