  1. I had already seen the video, but I just saw it again on CNN, while I was at a coffeeshop. But CNN did put a black box up during the actual firing, while referring viewers to their Web site if they wanted to see the whole video.

  2. If you are implying that American news outlets have done a good job covering our wars, I maintain that not to be the case. Al Jazeera would be a much better source, which is the only thing I infer from the above snapshot.

BTW – what would a search of “Wikileak” yield at the Gazoo?

  3. Mark: No implications made. I just wanted you to know that CNN did show the video, and also spoke with relatives of the dead photographer. There’s no question that U.S. media, whatever else they pretend, have considered Tiger Woods the biggest story of the year. Welcome to America.

As for searching at the Gaz, I typed in “wikileak” on Google and the first link was to news accounts of the video, the second to wikileak.org

I’m not very savvy on the Web — why would a search one place yield results different from a search someplace else?

    1. Wikileaks is kind of a remnant of investigative journalism, the only place left that is trying to shine a light on the activities of powerful people. If the Gazette had run anything that Wikileaks had exposed, it would mean that you are still linked to investigative reporting. That’s all.

  4. Sorry, I thought you asked what I would find, sitting here at the Gazette, if I googled “wikileaks.” I thought you meant there was perhaps a filter on our computers.

We did carry a short story on the video earlier this week. That’s how I first heard about it.
