Mladic apprehended!

Ratco Mladic, the Serbian military officer responsible for the deaths of as many as 8,000 Muslem men in the Bosnian wars of the early 1990’s, has been apprehended. His crimes were committed as NATO and the Clinton administration looked the other way.

Search is still underway for war criminals Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, and George W. Bush, thought to be responsible for the deaths of as many as 1,200,000 Muslims. They are suspected of hiding in the United States, a rogue country that is known to harbor war criminals. Tony Blair, also complicit, was last seen living in luxury in Great Britain.

  1. Kissinger, Pearl, and Brezinski should easily make the Top-10. Wolfowitz, the other mad bomber, also makes the all-star team. Oh, it’s so hard to remember.

  2. Walter Russell Mead: Why the Victory in Iraq Matters

“That victory was much more than a dignified escape from a sticky predicament. The coalition victory in Iraq was a historical turning point that may well turn out to be comparable to the cannonade of Valmy. It changed the course of world history. We have not done justice to those who gave their lives in Iraq until we recognize the full dimensions of their achievement.
The story of Iraq has yet to be told. It is too politically sensitive for the intelligentsia to handle just yet; passions need to cool before the professors and the pundits who worked themselves into paroxysms of hatred and disdain for the Bush administration can come to grips with how wrongheaded they’ve been.

But on this Memorial Day it is not enough to remember, and give thanks, that Osama’s dream died before he did and that the terror movement has been gravely wounded at its heart.
Because the dream didn’t just die.

    It was killed.

And it was killed by coalition forces.”

    1. Yes, I think we can all agree that the price that they had to pay was worth it …. to us.

Let ‘s put religious faith aside for a moment, Swede. Tell us exactly what was accomplished. There is, after all, a real goal, and it was achieved, and destruction of a country and all those corpses and the millions who had to flee don’t matter. What was the goal, Swede? Care to share?

      1. Golly gee Mark, wouldn’t ya think that freedom from oppressive leadership is contagious?

        What happened after Iraq?

Neighboring countries wanting the same, perhaps?

        1. OK Swede, let’s do an analogy. Here’s the best I can come up with:

Imagine that you were married to a domineering, horrible woman and that you never wanted to marry her, but your neighbor held a shotgun to your head and forced you to marry her.

Imagine later that your neighbor decided that he wanted your ranch. He said he wasn’t stealing your land. He said he was just helping you get rid of that awful wife that he had forced you to marry.

Imagine that he came on your land with his tractors, killed your two sons, hunted down your wife and killed her, and stayed on your land and said you still owned the land, but he was staying there so get used to it.

Then imagine that some guy down the street who knew nothing of the history of you and your neighbor said one day

Golly gee [Swede], wouldn’t ya think that freedom from that [horrible wife] is contagious?

My guess is that you’d hit that guy with a shovel. I don’t have one handy.

You snarl exactly where you are instructed to snarl, like a trained dog. Why not snarl at the Saudis? They are a horrible regime. Could it be because no one has suggested it to you?

Hugo Chavez is many things, but has not caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Your Bush and Cheney have put up historical death numbers. You ought to pause and think about that sometime, if you ever pause and think.
