Another tragedy

The murderous attack in Libya was a tragedy, and the loss of life is deplorable.

So too is the attack on the U.S. Embassy and the four Americans killed. But it pales in comparison.

It’s all ugly. What the U.S. did to that country was barbarism.

  1. What the U.S. did to that country was barbarism.

From some of your writings, I’ve come to the conclusion that barbarism is a good thing.

Libya’s wounds are self inflicted. We decide to support one side or the other in their internal disputes. Do you think we supported the wrong side, or should we stay out completely? Staying out completely has some merit, but then you leave the field to Russia, Iran, etc, and we’re back thinking we should be in the game.

    1. In your mind (honestly, I don’t like going there), why are the four Americans who died worthy of victim status, while the tens of thousands of Libyans were killed in the attack have “self-inflicted” wounds?

If it is because they had a bad government, then should not you and I be killed as well? We also have a bad government.

  2. 1943 Brits seize Lybia from Italians. 1987 US bombs. 2006 full diplomatic relations restored. 2008 Condoleezza Rice visits to sell arms. 2009 $60 million in weapons sold. The rest is history. Remember our Sadaam? Our (mujadiheen) Osama? See a pattern?
