On sheltering in place out of fear of what will happen for not believing in [the] virus[es]

Petra wrote a post in the aftermath of Bondi Beach, obviously knowing the event was fake, but also wondering about the phrase “Shelter in place.” I first saw that phrase in 2020, after the Colorado state government ended the lockdown after 30 days. I did not wonder about it then, but since I had not locked down and had no clue how to shelter myself from something that cannot be seen, tasted, smelled or felt, I ignored that too. Below is a wordy (moi?) comment I left for Petra, our friend and co-conspirator.

These pithy three-four words slogans are thought up by people in the public relations industry, “professional liars” as Chomsky called them. They are not accidental, and carry an underlying psychological message that is well thought out.

“Support the troops” means nothing, as there is no tangible substance to it. The troops are far away, and my feelings about the poor stupid schmucks have no impact on them. The subtle undertone is that no matter what mission they are on, it is a worthy mission, never involving spreading terror or overthrow of legitimate governments or theft of resources … three little words encapsulate all of that.

“Don’t let the perfect prevent the good”. This one was used when Al Gore ran for president, the unstated undertone that he was well-intended and held genuine beliefs, which he was not and did not. I was a bit long for a bumper sticker, but arguing with the morons who said it was impossible.

“Conspiracy theory” … to imagine that people do not conspire, more so as they gain more power, is stupid. Of course they do! This one, the product of a CIA operative in 1967, is trotted out to belittle and stigmatize honest and intelligent people, making us inferior in appearance to real morons. It is devastatingly clever.

“Spreader” … the pandemic was lies top to bottom, no virus, fake testing, “asymptomatic carrier” the means by which its fake spread was documented. By not going along with it, not wearing a mask, not staying at home, we are stigmatized is indifferent to human suffering, perhaps even psychopaths. Amazing turn of a phrase!

“Safe and effective”. Offering comfort and reassurance to an unknown substance they wanted to inject into all of us. It was neither, but try arguing with that! A 47-year-old friend of our son down in Florida collapsed and died of a heart attack a couple of days ago after a tennis match. My cousin came down with Guillaine Barre early last year, almost died and is still recovering. My first thought, which I cannot express to anyone but my wife or fellow travelers in places like this, is “caused by vaccines?”

“Shelter in place”. Use of the word “shelter” carries with it an external threat, as used during Covid that threat being an alleged virus that could not be seen, tasted, touched or smelled. Shelter is a clever way to sell fear.

“State of Fear” was the name of a book by Michael Crichton in which he constructed villains out of climate alarmists, had them doing evil deeds to create catastrophes to advance their cause. Now that I think of it, “State of Fear” is pithy, descriptive and useful. Crichton, from my reading of this book, never fully developed the plot or characters, left some things hanging, and died young, age 66, shortly after it was published. This enhanced my state of fear about prominent people speaking out before they die. I think he was cut short and panicked, forcing an unfinished work to be published because he was in a state of fear. He had nowhere to hide, nowhere to go to shelter in place.

______________

PS: I did not realize until I read the book Memoirs of Billy Shears that the expression “It’s been debunked” also came out of public relations. The book contained within it footnotes that told far more than anything else the real authors were selling, among them …

The most trusted fact-checking websites or television programs go to some expense to maintain their reputations and are often useful to check on inconsequential urban legends or threats of computer viruses. However, providing many true statements for each ruse, along with disproving false rumors, they also claim to “debunk” (a trigger word to make people believe them) proof of scams perpetrated by specific treacherous corporations.”

Do you see that the word “debunked” has a sense of finality about it, implying that the research has been done and i’s and t’s dotted and crossed? Whatever truth uttered is proclaimed to be false, debunked. Thus did Mike Williams, the Sage of Quay, confronted on several occasions with his fictional character Shears being shown to be a fiction, and that “Paul” McCartney was a set of identical twins, claimed the idea of twins had been “debunked.” The book he promotes says to do that.

    1. I don’t lose much sleep over mass slayings, knowing them to be staged, to enhance and keep us in a State of Fear. It helps that I avoid news, but things make their way to me, Brown and Bondi via Petra, always on the beam.

At night before I retire I watch YouTube shorts, you know, cat videos and a whole array of other stuff, most of it funny, all of it relaxing. Last night Jimmy Fallon was inserted to eulogize Rob Reiner and his wife. It was awful, upset me, kept me awake. Is it real? I suspect so, and the son who did it … he’ll sober up in prison and face the rest of his life alone and in pain. There’s no helping him.

      1. The news sure came out fast! Rob and wife were killed on sunday, then monday morning it was the hot topic of the day on all news channels. Even Trump made a public announcement. Don’t police put a hold on the media for a bit until they find out something? I’m going with fake death. But why? Reiner had several big movies and he had to be a multi millionaire. Oddly we were just commenting on his last movie Spinal Tap the End continues. I assume the end will continue for him and his wife, as this has to be a fake death event.

        1. Yeah seems likely to me too, but who knows why. Maybe they wanted privacy in retirement, and a new identity for the son?

It did create a lot of division judging by my corner of facebook.. apparently he was an outspoken, obnoxious team blue type, in the view of team red.. so sort of the flip side of Charlie Kirk. And same debate over how the teams should or shouldn’t respond to the death of their ideological foes. Liberals arguing why it’s different with Kirk, and so on. Probably it served many narrative and programming functions, in this news cycle..

          1. Yes I was going to comment on how divisive and shrill Rob Reiner was in his political stances. So as much as i like his films I don’t like when he became a real life version of “Meathead”, but much worse, almost as bad as Michael Moore on the left. So when you consider he has been playing a big role in the divide and conquer game you realize he is game for a fake death.

A simple reason to stage this us the public likes nothing more than a Hollywood murder. I predict if it follows the arc of OJ and Karen Read Nick will get off and they will milk this story for 1-2 years of headlines.

I heard a theory on No Agenda from Dvorak that makes me think you may really be onto something. Apparently the kid got a lawyer but theres something hinky about it. I only half listen half the time, somehow it suggested to Dvorak that maybe it was a “perfect crime” scenario – ie, if he succeeds in an insanity defense, or due to the meds, whatever, he still gets the inheritance. So they totally could be planning a lot of twists and turns, a full on “lifey”, aka life movie aka melodramatic soap opera news churn serial. Hell, for all we know, Rob Reiner could be behind the scenes directing it, and it’s a father-son bonding exercise where he cast him as the star. Secret capstone production for his career. And the artist mom providing photos for it.

          2. it appears they ran the Brown and MIT shootings to suspend the green card lottery – and America will no longer be a magnet for foreign talent. They had to stage something to get the liberals at the ivy league schools, Brookline, MA onboard that immigrants and naturally dangerous. Kind of a dick move in my book. Even if the shootings were true Trump and the agenda behind him showed their ugly underside once again

            1. Mr. Mathis once treated the question of why either Watergate or OJ, I forget which, and suggested it was all a distraction. From what, he naturally wondered, and made a list of all of the events that took place but were marginalized in news due to the distraction. I think there is something to that, but not anything special about Watergate or OJ, but rather that news is an enterprise that has to constantly churn and at the same time never tell us anything important. For that reason, there are always sideshows. Politics is nothing but a sideshow. They don’t count votes. But otherwise, life is pretty mundane. Yes, there is violence and killings, but most of it among the lower classes, and not news. It’s caused by drugs, alcohol and poverty. They could do in depth converge of every dead body that turns up in every town now and then, but how much better for them to have something big to talk about ongoing?

Fake assassinations, mass shootings, terrorist events serve many purposes, at least one that they keep us in a state of fear. But they also fill out the news cycle, making our otherwise mundane world interesting. There’s many reasons for all of this, but those are primary in my mind, state of fear, and news to fill out news cycles.

            2. I doubt even most reasonable conservatives are very convinced by the leap from crazy lone shooter to all green card recipients are such potentially. Let alone ivy league coastal liberals. It’s more of a troll move by way of flimsy pretext and plausible deniability.

      2. I agree “news churn” alone could account for a large slice of the pie chart of reasons “why”. And yes politics is a sideshow, but I think they do mostly count votes. For the same reason they count the money their monopoly corporations rake in, they have to keep score. Who are the real performers. Especially the young pols imo really have to prove they can deliver, interest the public. Then later a “lion of the Senate” can have the deck massively stacked in his favor, and if he can’t “really” win with that, then &#$@ him too. Sure they might play around the margins, but you go to a blue city like mine somewhat, or red state, also like mine, you find plenty of real people who really vote, and really vote for the people they’re said to vote for. And will happily tell you who they support, and yep, it’s who the official results say they do, percentage wise.

        1. In our state, Colorado, they use paper real ballots and store them for the required time before destroying them, so that recounts are always possible. But it is interesting how difficult it is to get a recount done!

Most states don’t have stored paper ballots, but they do produce paper voter records that can be recounted. That’s the scam. If the voter records are produced by machines that are crooked, they don’t matter.

But I’ve long considered too that if both candidates are crooked, then the outcome does not matter, and votes might be counted. Also, third party candidates are used to tilt the race one way or the other. That was Ross Perot’s game. He was out there to ensure that Clinton got elected, so at least back in the 90s, votes were being counted. It wasn’t till 2000 and Bush v Gore that electronic voting eliminated the need to use other methods to fix elections.

So yeah, votes might be counted, but I suspect when push comes to shove, the vote tally can be altered if necessary.

          1. Yes I agree they probably could rig it in many or most cases, certainly if they threw all their resources at it.. just guessing that, at least currently, they prefer to use other tactics, and maintain appearances somewhat. And get actual buy in from voters, rather than obviously fraudulent results that would disillusion even the most complacent and trusting sorts. It’s a more subtle control mechanism to have a two party uniparrty. And gives an outlet for the ambitious and talented pols to vie with each other, to see who is the best frontman, who can put lipstick on a pig the best and sell otherwise unpopular agendas.

  2. Mr. Mathis makes a reference to “Reiner” in his recent two-page piece on the Kennedy’s filming a fake assassination in Rhode Island. I wonder if that is his only feint to the event.

    1. He mentioned in one of the recent articles he thought the Reiner event was fake. So I guess he isn’t going to research it. Would probably just be the usual rundown, but most that follow him probably think it was fake so why bother. Even though he has done a rundown on less popular, more than obvious faked events, that didn’t get as much mainstream press. Another oddity with the Kennedy event, is they flew to and stopped in other cities before Dallas and gave speeches in the hotel and walked around the lobby. It would have been much easier, if someone wanted to take him out, to do it there instead of him being in the back seat of a moving car. I haven’t seen anyone point that fact out. How much of the event was real or even filmed in a studio, as with the Johnson taking an oath in the jet plane photo you posted.

      1. Someone with better insight than me, probably Mathis but I’m not sure, pointed out that Dealey Plaza was a movie set, and that everyone there was a paid actor. They probably had the perimeter guarded to keep goddamned innocent bystanders out. There were probably rehearsals and several takes of the event, with any photo action sure to be blurry enough not to notice that Jack and Jackie were not there, and body doubles were used. Was it Mathis that pointed out that the guy spinning the umbrella was used to say … “…and … action!”? That was a marvelous insight to me, really smart.

      2. I hope he does do Reiner, sure probably a lot of genealogy but he often throws in interesting takes as well.. and Reiner seems like a rich field to mine. Aside from that, as he’s said, topical news stories help draw in new readers, who aren’t all “auto-hoaxers.”
