The following comment from Greg under the post Intentional Deception or Total Incompetence has left my head spinning.
There are charge[r]s in various areas in my area, there is a Tesla supercharger spot, has 5 stalls, charges .40 cents / kWh, and if [we] look 20 feet a way you can see the huge generator hidden behind some trees. I think most of these generators run on? Diesel fuel. So why not have cars that run on diesel and save the hassle of the chargers?
This post has to do with a couple of Wattsupwiththat posts, one from last week, and one more recent.
The first is by Willis Eschenbach, The Mirage of Electric Vehicles. Eschenbach is ridiculed as a non-scientist by climate zealots. He blogs at WUWT.
Climate zealots are usually dismissive of anyone without scientific credentials who criticize their work, while at the same time ignoring the fact that Al Gore and Bill McKibbon are without credentials, with Gore in fact having had trouble with both science and math in college. Here’s Wikipedia in his defense:
Gore was an avid reader who fell in love with scientific and mathematical theories,[21] but he did not do well in science classes and avoided taking math.[20] During his first two years, his grades placed him in the lower one-fifth of his class. During his second year, he reportedly spent much of his time watching television, shooting pool and occasionally smoking marijuana.[20][21
In order to fall in love with scientific and mathematical theories, one must first possess enough brain power to comprehend those theories, even to the point of self-realization that we can all be wrong, very wrong about what we think. Anyway, call it what it is – Gore is in the crowded field of climate zealotry, and so can be as wrong and stupid as he can be, and outfits like Wikipedia will still defend him.

Thanks to Paul Homewood, whose website is Not A Lot of People Know That, I was linked to TCW: Defending Freedom, and an article entitled The Global Climate Change Cult and the War on the Mind – 1. The “1” indicates that this article is the first in a series of four, three to follow. I will summarize the first, and the other three you are on your own to follow.
I have long known that the objective of the people behind the Climate Change movement has nothing to do with climate or CO2, but everything to do with fossil fuels. They underlie our wealth and are the key to breaking the back of poverty in the third world. One key to understanding this cult is that while they pretend that CO2 (which they call “carbon”) is a harmful gas that they are trying to save the planet from, they oppose nuclear*** and hydroelectric power, both of which are CO2-free. This unmasks them for all to see – they are against free and abundant energy. Their real objective, then, is unstated, but not hard to fathom: Anti people, growth, and prosperity in the third world.

The above photo is taken from the British Guardian, one of the most inflammatory climate alarmist sources on the planet. It was brought to my inbox by Paul Homewood, a prolific writer and very erudite skeptic. He is inked here under “Not A Lot of People Know That, his blog. He titles his post “Guardian Readers are the Most Gullible on the Planet, New Data Shows.
I have but three problems with the article published in the Guaradian, which claims that Climate Change may unlock new pathogens, both viral and bacterial: 1) Viruses have never been proven to exist; 2) Bacteria feed on dead and dying tissue, and do not attack healthy hosts unless in an oxygen-free environment, and 3) Climate change, a scare propaganda campaign, is not real.

The letter above, sent to people living on an unspecified street in an unspecified community, simply reeks of smugness. I would guess the four electric vehicle owners are young, as the bulk of the climate alarmism has been directed at school children, who are now becoming adults. During the school years they were never given more than one side of the climate debate, and so they do not know the the supposed science is unsettled, and that the warmists could be (very) wrong,

The Darwin Awards are a tongue-in-cheek way in which certain people are honored for improving the human gene pool by means of some fatal and stupid act, such as a too-long bungee cord. Some are famous, as the lone survivor who earned the an honorable mention, Larry Walters. He is the guy who in 1982 used helium balloons to fly high in the sky (16,000 feet). His plan was to use a shotgun to one-by-one deflate the balloons, but he dropped his shotgun. As I understand, he eventually had to be rescued from electrical and telephone wires. Once rescued, he was arrested.
If I were on the nominating committee, I would name Randy Lee Tenley, from my home state of Montana. In 2015 he was trying to create a big foot (Sasquatch) sighting, using a “Ghillie Suit, seen to the left. Such a suit is a type of camouflage clothing designed to resemble the background environment such as foliage.
It worked very well for Tenley, who stepped out on a highway. Because he was so well camouflaged, drivers could not see him. He was hit by a car, and then run over by another car. I assume alcohol was involved.
