The news media and public officials have been off their rocker lately talking about our “boiling” planet. It is all hyperbole, completely unscientific, and really just a propaganda exercise. But they mean business as follows: Climate lock downs are in store. They saw it done with Covid and thought “We can do that too!” (Actually, “they” and “we” are the same people.)
It is discouraging to see how utterly controlled the news media is, and public officials like Biden as well. Has it always been like this? (Yes.)
Please note the graph above, wherein ENSO, or the El Niño southern oscillation, causes a warming trend around the world. The most recent ones are labeled on the graph, and we are entering another now, experiencing some temperature spikes. It is no big deal, as El Niño is always followed by La Niña, or the cooler half of the oscillation. The only problem is that the wild-eyed fanatics and their closeted friends intend to make hay while the sun shines.
They claim that July was the warmest month on record, and that we have experienced some of the warmest weather on record, and that it has not been this warm in 125,000 years. How do they know that? They don’t. They just make stuff up, trying to sound as alarmist as possible, and no one contradicts them. We have proxy data, like ice cores, that indicate wild fluctuations in temperature, with our current Holocene interglacial period coming in like a lion, melting everything except Antarctica and Greenland, within the last ten thousand years. Sea levels rose 400 fee … there is a lot to ignore in making these wild-eyed unscientific claims.
“On record” goes back to 1979 with the first satellite measuring the temperature of the troposphere. Before that, they know nothing, cannot possibly know anything about our troposphere. There were no measurements.
We do have land temperature records kept by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) that go back before 1979. I have that record here, and am going to randomly check out a few states to find out what was the warmest year on record prior to 1979. I have a hunch I know. Here we go:
Arkansas, 1930; California, 1931; Colorado, 1935; Indiana, 1937; Kentucky, 1930; Maryland, 1930; Mississippi, 1930; Tennessee, 1930; Virginia, 1930; Wyoming, 1937.
The data is public record, but NOAH does not publish it. Bob Tisdale had to download it and organize it as his own expense, and I bought his book, Extremes and Averages in Contiguous U.S. Climate. It covers the period 1918-2018. As we can see, temperatures in the states I chose above in the 1930s were brutal. But we knew that. I am glad Tisdale produced a paper copy of the data for his followers, as I do not trust NOAA to preserve the data. That outfit appears as corrupt as the IPCC itself.
Ask any climate scientist why the 1930s turned so hot on us, and 1) they will deny it is so, and 2) will have no clue about why that happened. No one knows. The point is that as recently as 93 years ago it was hotter than now, and hotter than hell too. Temperatures caused a mass migration to the west coast back in the 1930s. Nothing like that has happened since. Temperatures have been more stable, and cooler.

Here is a breath of fresh air, from the CO2 Coalition: Virginia: Life is Good and Getting Better. I am going to steal a graph or two from them, but urge readers to follow the link. CO2 Coalition plans on doing similar studies of the other states, I assume all 50. Virginia is first.

That black line is actual temperature data (troposphere) supplied by Dr. John Christy a the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He’s been doing this for decades. All of the other spaghetti on this graph are IPCC climate models. Maybe a couple of them have correctly predicted anything, and yet governments and universities all over the world rely on them, ignoring actual data, the black line.
Here is another, Virginia: Percentage of days over 100°F, 1890 to 2023:

Notice two things on this graph: The 1930s were absolutely brutal while our current temperatures are mild, and that there is zero correlation between atmospheric CO2 and temperatures. CO2 is our friend, a beneficial fertilizer. I suspect it was chosen as the demon as a means of attacking fossil fuels, our sources of comfort and wealth. That is what they are about: Misanthropy. They do not hate fossil fuels. They hate people. We tend to thrive and multiply in warm climate. They want many fewer of us around.
Here are the conclusions regarding Virginia climate from the CO2 Coalition review:
- There is no unusual or unprecedented warming.
- Heat waves have been declining.
- Severe weather is not increasing.
- Crop and forest growth is increasing.
- Droughts are in decline.
- There is no increase in hurricanes.
The whole of the climate scare movement is a corrupt mix of (at best) pseudoscience and (at worst) lies lying liars. But these liars have a firm hand on media and public policy. Don’t forget to duck.
Yep… Hoist on their own petard, but they just suppress the petard data and.. well anyway, graphs are always fun. I remember what that one commenter said too, about the absurdity of assigning one number to be the global atmospheric average at any given time, in a system as vast and complex, and diverse, as Earth is. Clearly such a methodology is more about storytelling and persuasion, than science (putting aside whether they are even honest with how that single number is arrived at.)

The global average temperature is an average of many things, including satellite data, land measured temperatures and ocean buoys. It is like the DJIA or S&P 500, admitted by all to be meaningless and yet used as a gauge because the changes in it indicate changes in the larger and unmeasured body of data. Such as it is, if we know what it is, it can be useful.

True, I agree, it says something, as long as consistent methods are used over time and you only make apples to apples comparisons
