Pop Quiz: Game Show Host, or Politician

“Our politicians, they all seemed like game show hosts to me.”

The above quote is from Sting, the musician, and is quite insightful, if you ask me. Below the fold here are photos of fifteen men, and your job is to 1) identify them, or 2) failing in that, tell me whether they are games show hosts or politicians. Keep in mind, there is one clinker.

  1. Numbering 1 from top left to bottom right: 1- Bert Convey, 7- Bob Eubanks, 8- Richard Dawson, 12- Trump, 13- Jaime Foxx??? (Actor) wait… they’re all actors. I think 4 is Gruesome Newsom but whoever he is, he’s part of the Matthew McConaughey batch along with Christian Bale. 14 is probably a game show host in retirement. (Jack Narz? Durwood Kirby? J. Fred Muggs?- I’m out-)

    1. I like that name Gruesome Newson. Someone I know on Facebook was applauding Newson for his latest big stand against Trump (BSAT) – for opposing something or the other, probably something about him being a savior of immigrants. As if that douche gives a F-c-k about anyone but himself.

  2. Jaime Foxx did a stint as a game show host. You’re right on Newsome, and I selected a photo of Trump from his Apprentice game show days. The name you’re searching for is Chuck Burris, host of the Gong Show. I’ll list them all later today. Right now I’d have to walk 30 feet to get the names.

    I was not aware of McConaughey group. Fun awaits!

    I was going through the list of game show hosts alphabetically, and so neglected to mention the best-named of all. Wink Martindale. Didn’t get that far. There are hundreds of them!

Just interesting I knew Tom Bergeron growing up – meaning he was a popular local personality in the 1980s – everywhere in Seacoast New Hampshire – a DJ on WHEB, the big rock station in Portsmouth, NH, and host of the Granite State Challenge, a high school quiz show. He seems like a straight arrow, which i maybe how we got successful – a straight normal guy who kept on the straight and narrow when it came to entertainment. And he’s particularly good at his job if I remember correctly
