Something about Elon Musk makes me uncomfortable … he’s the Al Gore of technology, a moron in a silk suit. He’s a frontispiece for others with hidden agendas. When I saw his SpaceX rockets landing after launching, I thought any idiot could spot a video run backwards. Not so. People eat that crap up.

Judge Lance Ito and martial … law
Some of the best fun I had back when Straight and I were unearthing zombies and twins was the intriguing resemblance between Bruce Lee and Judge Lance Ito. Looking back I see I’ve collected and organized and sized the photos, but either left it at that or deleted the post. Since I have long thought this was some of our best work, I doubt that I deleted the post, but I have indeed gotten rid of many, so it is possible.
Blowing (debt) bubbles for oligarch carpetbaggers: Bigger and better than ever.

Mark and others have demonstrated how the climate change narrative has been doctored and promoted by a multi-disciplinary team of liars that serve the collection of oligarchs presently anxious to begin their turn partying in the driver’s seat. But will the new, green economy do the trick? Will climate change create the hysteria needed to inflate the next global economic bubble and transition us into a new world order – much like the old-world order — that is less dependent on perpetual war and violence against the non-compliant? Can the ruling class reach consensus?
Privatization, deregulation and austerity (neoliberal principles) have served the uber-rich since the 1970s at the expense of everyone else. Countries rich in oil and other natural treasures have suffered most. Wealth has accumulated at the top, stolen in the usual manner, at gunpoint, by the proxy armies of NATO and private mercenaries and international NGOs, funded by the U.S. defense budget and laundered money from gun-running, drugs, trafficking and gambling, all channeled through global banks like the BIS, IMF and World Bank.

$u$tainability. When you hear that word associated with something you might want to eat, stop what you’re doing and consider just what that word now means. It means money, bio-tech foods and much more.
A friend of mine, a self-described “vegan,” was telling me about the new, Impossible Burgers™, now being served at Burger King. I’m talking about one of the leading meatless meats now being consumed by unsuspecting consumers flocking to eat meat made from vegetable protein to avoid all the animal torture, environmental degradation and slaughter associated with industrial feedlot production of beef, pork, chicken, lamb and fish. The list of ingredients sounds pretty much like many of the vegan alternatives to animal products that have been on supermarket shelves for decades. But these so-called foods, like meatless meat and cow-free milk, are cooked up fresh from the lab in fermentation tanks. The cooks are some of the maddest of mad scientists in the world today. https://steemit.com/food/@camille1234/if-you-eat-food-you-don-t-want-to-miss-this
I could go on for pages and pages about the rampant expansion of patented formulations and processes that are entering the food we eat without proper health studies, basic consumer-safety regulations, or even a basic debate about the moral and ethical implications. Camille, the researcher who made the video link above, has covered (with lots of links) the widespread distribution and consumption of gene-spliced, pressure-treated, machine-textured, plant-based fats and protein engineered in unnatural combinations. Just what qualifies any of this lab goop as food, anyway? Don’t be a lab rat.
So, please watch the video, and watch what you eat. Only you can prevent self-inflicted disease from unwise food choices. If it sounds too good to be true, or smells a little fishy, just say no.
A boy named Doris
This struck me as kind of odd, but seems to fit within the larger story of Pearl Harbor, if you think of it. I’ve never looked into that day, but I know there is skepticism in our readership here, so that I hope to get some comments from people who have looked into it. What little WWII dabbling I have done was in the matter of Iwo Jima, where I came away with the distinct impression that it was a small incident that was by means of stagecraft made into a large one. (Why else would the Secretary of the Navy be on a beach in a combat zone, unless he knew he was safe? The photo of the flag raising that day, admitted by all to be staged (now it can be told), is nonetheless magnificent.
Thinking about it, how did people get information back in 1941? There was radio, newspapers, newsreels, some telephone (long distance was expensive), word of mouth* … that’s about it. If a large hoax was to be pulled off, it could certainly be done given limited media to control at that time. I wonder if, as with the moon landings and 911, there was wide and unreported skepticism at the time.
Thanks for the memories
We are on the Amalfi Coast today, having down time. We are meeting our daughter for dinner later this evening, and the town of Almalfi is just wall-to-wall shops and tourists, so inside is better than outside. So I have been laying here on the bed looking at old photos of the Beatles, trying to figure out the Paul/Mike dynamic.

I deliberately left behind on our current trip anything looking like serious reading. Experience tells me that such books will have many unopened miles on them on return. I did bring some light detective fiction, The Daughter of Time, a 1952 book by Josephine Tey. It has been a joy, surprising sections that remind me that I need to read more fiction. I think it was Norman Mailer who said that journalists use the truth to tell lies, while novelists use lies to tell the truth.
Iconic images are not accidental

Photos like this are, of course, all over Facebook for the 19th anniversary of the great event. I think it interesting that in the US, the further away from New York City people are, the more likely they believe in the events of that day. That is the power of TV news. Within the city, if memory serves, there was great skepticism. No one saw or heard a plane.* Those memories were all supplied later.
“Regime change” + “make the economy scream” = neoliberalism = death

As we approach another yet another fake ceremony pretending that 9/11 was not an inside job, I’ve been thinking of the coincidence of that date and the other significant events that happened on that date. September 11 is not just a date to remember because of the 2001 razing of the Twin Towers and Building #7 in New York City. It also commemorates the anniversary of 1) the birth of neoliberalism and 2) the military coup in Chile ordered by Sec. of State Henry Kissinger and executed by the CIA.
Duly elected president of Chile, Salvador Allende, was forced out, replaced by General Augusto Pinochet, and later assassinated. The primary objective of the September 11, 1973 coup was the neoliberal economic transformation, which led to rapid price increases for basic goods and looting of the nation’s most valuable natural resource, copper. But even more important, perhaps, was the denigration of national sovereignty – creating a vassal state ruled by a puppet dictator.
