Our own Mark Tokarski has been the victim of a slanderous and completely unwarranted attack out of the blue recently by a certain Taos-based blog site. You know the one. The paper called Mark a “scumbag agent”. I write this not as a formal response, but rather as an olive branch specifically intended for the man in Taos. There are very few reasonable explanations for the web of oddities surrounding this man and his background, and one of the best explanations would indicate that the man in Taos is currently in trouble. Fickle foehn fallacies

I was out birding with a group of folks on Saturday, out on the South Platte River northeast of Denver. In terms of quacks seen, it was a spectacular day, with thousands of birds covering fourteen species along with bald eagles, hawks, cormorants and herons. And smaller stuff. It helps that a major waste treatment plant dumps its final product in the Platte upstream … it both warms the water and adds nutrients. The vast majority of ducks we saw were Northern Shovelers, known to like brackish water.

Such a day makes up for my weak outing on the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, where a friend and I walked  for several hours through woods, not seeing one bird. At the outset we saw two crows flying high overhead, and I reported them only to be told they were ravens.

“So,” I told our group leader, “I saw two birds this afternoon, and got them both wrong.”

Comedians I like and not

This post could just as easily be called “Tastes are Personal, Dontcha Know?” It is about comedy and comedians. We all have our favorites, and I will list just a few of mine.

Dennis Miller: Even when I was very liberal, I enjoyed this man. His humor is biting, and extremely clever. Talking about service animals on airplanes, and how carried away (so to speak ) it has gotten, he mentioned a seatmate on an overseas flight, and her “therapeutic puff adder.” He said that Hillary’s campaign was “shakier than a blood bank at a Greyhound Depot.” Something like that, things that would never cross my mind, that catch me by surprise, and make me laugh out loud.

Are Fasci Still a Symbol of Fascism?

Are these symbols of emancipation and freedom, or a new era of (voluntary) slavery?

Like the mysterious origins of the Egyptian pyramid scattered around in strategic locations, fasci, the symbol of people united under a single, authoritarian state and its man-made laws. Fasci can be found in places most Americans might find odd if they were aware of the meaning of these ancient symbols.

To be a “citizen” of such a state is not what it’s cracked up to be. Home of the free, and land of the brave, are little more than meaningless words in such a system, regardless of how many times they are repeated in song and literature. I hope to give a glimpse or two into the false world we live in, and possibly a way we all might learn of a way to abolish slavery once and for all.

The institutionalization of brainlessness

I am “friends” with several people on Facebook who I have on perpetual “30-day snooze.” Why don’t I just unfriend them? It seems harsh. The problem with these people is that they are morons. They say stupid things, and by means I do not understand are able to put their stupid words up in boldface with a colorful backdrop. Like this:

Coronavirus Doctor Li Wenliang Did Not Exist

Readers might already know that I was on the trail of this one, and I think it is worthy of its own post. Last week, the doctor who was known as the “whistleblower” on the Chinese coronavirus was reported to have died from the virus. The red flags surrounding this death are redder than the Chinese flag is red. Something fishy absolutely happened here, and below I will explore what I believe we have witnessed: Li Wenliang did not exist (or if he did, he was a state agent and most certainly did not die of the coronavirus). Michael Mann, of Hockey Stock infamy, is in Australia, and as usual is littering the landscape with nonsensical statements about the fate of our planet. He said

“Australia’s Wildfire Catastrophe Isn’t the “New Normal.” It’s Much Worse Than That.  … These are the things that keep us up at night as climate scientists.”

Queensland Senator Malcolm Roberts had enough of it, and gave a speech on the floor of the Australian Parliament which is reprinted in full beneath the fold. It’s to the point: Mann has no evidence of anything, and never has. Hardly anyone calls him out on it.

Coronavirus Scare Tactics

This is not a full post, but rather just a reminder to readers to not be suckered in by the fear tactics in the media surrounding the Chinese Coronavirus. All available data suggests a fatality rate below 1%. You should be much more afraid of the regular old flu! They should call it Coronavirus because to get over it, you should kick back and enjoy a Corona or two…

 

Navajo Mystical Precognition & the St. Francis Dam Collapse

In what has become a series of posts about supernatural phenomena, here I will add a new instance to the collection from a case that I recently came across. It is a fascinating and virtually untold historical example of precognition, and I think it is worthy of more attention than it has ever before received. This story is ultimately a footnote within a footnote…a story within a story that has already been largely forgotten. That story? The collapse of the St. Francis Dam late in the evening of March 12th, 1928, which killed at least 500 people and was the largest American engineering disaster of the 20th century. The detail I hope to illuminate is a group of Navajo Indians who ultimately did not perish in the flood. The means by which they escaped a horrible death is what is so remarkable and merits being retold.
